I sew an Internet meme illustrating that people think that we, Thai, use elephants for transportation, but in reality, we take a sky-train to schools. Yet, none of people I knew use elephants for transportation. However, we do not have such a good transportation in other cities. In my hometown, Songkhla, we do not even have a bus for local transportation -- our main forms of transportation are Took-Took and Song-Thaw. My home is just a little bit outside the downtown area, and we did not have any public transportation after 9pm. (I do not if it is better nowaday.)
In Bangkok, we have a bunch of shopping centers whereas having one is the best we can hope for other cities. We can easily find good hospitals and specialized physicians in Bangkok, but it other cities, I wonder if we can find one in other cities.
If you are in Bangkok, you might think that your country is so developed as the downtown Bangkok is much lively that other major cities (e.g., Montreal QC, Canada -- transportation is good here, but we only have decades old trains not a modern sky-train).
Bangkok alone can be considered as a developed country, but (Thailand - {Bangkok}) is surely an undeveloped country. (This is a definition of a developing country I guess). This will keep continuing unless Bangkok people concern more about others. Bangkok people are not the only people nor majority of people in the country. |
